External communal areas are often overlooked but are just as important as internal communal areas. Integra helped a central London client by changing the existing masonry paint specification to a fire upgrading specification to ensure that a Class O Fire Rating was restored.

Solving cleaning problems is an area we also specialise in. One of our long term clients, like many social housing providers, had a persistent graffiti problem. Having tried many other products unsuccessfully (graffiti merely smudged and left staining) they contacted Integra for advice. Only the Integra Titanium System cleaned up the graffiti completely.

At Integra we help clients assess the fire risk of paint layers in their communals to ensure re-painting will be safe and Class 0 compliant. Often ordinary emulsion paints add flammable material to the walls and a change of specification is needed to make these areas safe again. Integra provide expert advice on the appropriate type of fire upgrading paint system required.

Colour matching can often be challenging, particularly with specialist high performance products. At Integra, we have developed a system that has overcome that problem. As well as 1000’s of our own colours we can also match and create colours for historical projects where records no longer exist or where residents have already chosen a colour from other palettes.

Safety and cost efficiencies are our priority. When asked to give a second opinion for a prestigious project where chemical stripping of the communal areas had been specified by others, our thorough adhesion testing of the old paint established that the adhesion was in fact sound and stripping of the old paint unnecessary. Integra’s fire-upgrading over-coating system saved our client money and reduced disruption to residents.

Concern for health sensitivities and resident’s comfort, in particular for those in sheltered housing, is very much part of our operating priorities. Integra’s very low odour water based system allows internal painting to take place without disturbance to vulnerable residents. This is a popular product for many of our clients.
